Graduation Announcement from Ms Taddeo!!!
GRADE 8 GRADUATION!
Congratulations St. Antoine Daniel Graduates!
Though it’s been a challenging last few months, you made it! You’re closing a chapter of your lives as you complete your elementary education. Since a traditional graduation ceremony isn’t possible this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, we want to commemorate this exciting time in your lives in a different way. Grad ceremonies are a time to get all dressed up, to look your best and to celebrate your accomplishments.
That’s where our *Glam-Up Challenge* comes in! We want you to look and feel amazing and do something that brings the class of 2020 together for one last hurrah. Typically, at a graduation ceremony, the graduates names would be called, and you would come up on stage to collect your diploma and family and friends cheer! Together, we’re going to create a video compilation to honour our graduates instead. Here’s how the *Glam Up Challenge* works. Each graduate will have *eight seconds* in total. The first four seconds you will record a clip of yourself in your regular-hanging-around-the- house-clothes. The first person in the video (Ricardo Alexis-because we're going in alphabetical order) will pick up a scroll (A rolled up piece of paper symbolizing a diploma-that you will make ahead of time), cover the camera with the scroll or whatever you're using to get yourself "ready" (for example, a hair brush or hair spray, lip gloss, a blow dryer, etc.) and then pull the scroll (or other item) back from the camera, revealing a completely new you! All dressed up and ready to graduate from elementary school. Within the 2nd clip (again a total of four seconds), you will put on your gradation cap and drop the scroll for the next person to catch. The person who catches the scroll will have the scroll dropped from above.
Each graduate's video will be compiled into one long video to signify your crossing the stage graduate from St. Antoine Daniel! Can't wait to see everyone's work! I've attached a sample *Glam-Up Challenge* video that my cousin made with her friends. My cousin, Alessia, is the first person in the video :) Have fun with this and I'll do the editing and compiling when I have everyone's video.
I'm going to need everyone's work by *Thursday June 18* so that I have a few days to edit and if anything needs to be re-recorded I can communicate that with you. If you have any questions, you can post in this thread and I'll get back to you. Finally if you have any *suggestions for songs* that can accompany this video, please share! I'm an old lady and I don't know what's "cool" anymore. We'll likely need about *two songs* for the length of the video if all 33 graduates participate. If anyone doesn't submit their video clip then we'll have their names featured at the end, but that's no fun at all!
p.s. Thank you to Ms. Joseph and Ms. Ramirez for delivering the graduation caps!
